QUESTIONS? 1.) Is the Canada Drug Company a pharmacy? No. We are a company whose mission is to help people get access to affordable prescription medications through our affiliated Canadian pharmacy. 2.) Can US residents purchase drugs from Canada? Under their "compassionate non-enforcement" policy, the FDA has allowed US residents to import medications from outside of the USA provided the following conditions are met: -Medication ordered does not exceed a 3 month supply. -Medication purchased is for personal use only. -The intended use of the product is appropriately identified. -Medication purchased is not for resale. -Patient provides the name and address of their licensed US physician responsible for his/her treatment with that product. -Medication is not a scheduled or controlled substance (such as habit forming drugs, sleeping pills, narcotics, etc.) 3.) Why are drugs cheaper in Canada? The Canadian government limits how much drug companies can charge for their products. In addition, the low Canadian Dollar exchange rate makes products purchased from Canadian companies (like pharmacies) by Americans cost less. 4.) How much will I save? For most medications, Canadian prices will cost anywhere from 20% to 80% less than in the U.S. Your average savings will be close to 50%. 5.) Are drugs from Canada safe? All prescription drugs provided by our affiliated Canadian pharmacy adhere to the rigorous standards of Health Canada (the Canadian health authority), which meet or exceed FDA drug safety standards in the United States. The Canadian government strictly regulates all drugs that are sold in Canada--whether they are bought within Canada, or exported to countries like the U.S. And the fact that our affiliated pharmacy is one of Canada's oldest (over 40 years) is further assurance of the safety of ordering through the Canada Drug Company. 6.) Do I require a prescription? Yes, we require a copy of your valid prescription written by a licensed US Physician for Rx medications. We can also contact your physician by phone instead for the prescription or your local pharmacy to transfer it to us. You must indicate on the customer profile/Health profile if you wish us to take these actions. 7.) Are drugs required to be shipped to doctor's office? No, we can deliver your 3 month supply of personal medication directly to your home. 8.) How long will it take to receive my medication? It may take 2-3 weeks, from the date we receive your prescription and completed forms, until your order arrives at your door. To ensure prompt delivery, please fill out all forms completely, and fax, mail or call the Canada Drug Company to pick up your forms, along with a copy of your original prescription. Provided there are no problems with your order (ie. missing information on your forms, difficulties processing credit card) we will make all efforts to send your medication to you as quickly as possible. 9.) Can my wife or husband's medication be combined and shipped in same box in order to save shipping costs? Yes, if you and another member of your family are living at the same address, you may combine orders that were placed at the same time in order to save on shipping costs. 10.) Does my doctor have to know that I am getting prescription filled by a Canadian drugstore? No, however on occasion the Canadian pharmacy may be required to contact your physician for clarification or further information. One of their pharmacists would identify themselves when contact is required. It would be beneficial to inform your physician since they should be informed of all of your medical conditions including the source of the medications As well, this would enable them to write the prescription accordingly (a 3 month supply with 3 refills). If you're visiting a pharmacy in your local area it would also be of benefit to yourself to inform them of your complete prescription usage, even the ones you order through us, in order to prevent any negative drug interactions. 11.) Will my information given to the Canada Drug Company be kept confidential? All personal health and credit card information will be kept strictly confidential and only our affiliated pharmacy and the reviewing Canadian doctor will have access to it when required. You can read about our Privacy and other policies HERE. 12.) Can my doctor fill in and fax or send in the medical profile directly to the Canada Drug Company for me? Yes, this way your physician knows that we have all the information regarding your health. However, it is not a requirement and you may fill them in and send them yourself. 13.) Can you come and pick up my order forms? Yes! At your request, the Canada Drug Company will send a representative to your home or residential complex to pick up your prescription and forms at no extra charge to you. 14.) Can I exchange my medication? It is unlawful for the Canada Drug Company or our affiliated pharmacy to accept any returns of medication, therefore all sales are final and non-refundable. 15.) What is the difference between a brand name drug and a generic drug? Over time the original drug manufacturer loses the patent to be the sole manufacturer of a drug. As a result other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact medication at a lower more competitive price. The generic drug is equally effective and has the exact active ingredients as the brand name drug. There are strict regulations and standards on the generic industry and these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug.
