The idea behind the idea
The idea for YouveBeenPaged.com came from our personal experiences of watching too many companies, organizations, and other individuals treating people with disrespect, indifference, and lack of human decency. The original concept was to try to offer a way that would encourage companies and people to act correctly toward the human beings they come in contact with; however, it was determined that positive persuasion would not be enough. Instead, we decided to focus on the people who had been mistreated and to offer them a powerful way to fight back.
Our goals
Offer an effective way for people to express their anger and dissatisfaction about the way they have been treated, by embarrassing and exposing the guilty party. Become the advocate for the little guy (or gal) who has been mistreated, ignored, or annoyed by someone or some organization that was bigger, stronger, or had more money or power. Give a voice to people who feel they cannot make themselves heard. Empower people who feel they are powerless to respond to being treated badly. Help people achieve retribution, leverage, and influence when they have been convinced they will never have any. Help people attain closure and a sense of well-being as a result of the revenge they exacted.
Our vision
In this day and age when phrases like "company policy", "customer service", and "acting appropriately" have become distorted into excuses for behaving inhumanely, YouveBeenpaged.com is a vital tool for helping people defend themselves. It's a shame that often the only way to show people and companies who behave irresponsibly, immorally, or unlawfully that THEY are wrong is by publicly embarrassing them; but if that is what it takes, YouveBeenPaged.com will be here to do it. And, judging by the way things are going in this world, we'll probably be needed for some time to come.
