==>1.) Welcome

Hello St. Jude follower!

The theme of this month's newsletter is trying to keep our faith (as well

as our hearts and minds) strong and on the right path, in spite of all the

things going on around us in this crazy world. There is no greater

challenge than in trying to follow a course which we know deep inside us

to be the right one, when our experience in our daily lives would

sometimes lead us to believe that we are somehow "out of touch" with the

real world.

In fact, we should be looking at it from another angle: that having a

solid grounding based on faith and spirituality IS the correct way to lead

one's life, and that those who would think and act otherwise are the ones

who are actually going through this life without a clue.

A favorite saying of mine (and I apologize for not remembering where I

heard it from) is that we should be IN this world, while not being OF the

world.  The translation is simple: we must live life as it is given to us

to the fullest, and we can't ignore the existence of events and people of

the world, regardless of how we feel about them; however, that doesn't

mean that we have to give in to ways of thinking and acting that are

harmful because of pressure or because it's fashionable to do so. Make the

most of your place in the world, without letting the world make you into

something you know is not what God intended you to be.

==>2.) Get with the Times!

I urge you to read the latest installment of the St. Jude Times, which I

just posted to the St. Jude Novena Site. It discusses the position of

faith we should take in light of recent news headlines regarding the

Catholic Church.  An important article about an important issue....Click

here to read it :

==>3.) What's new at the St. Jude Novena Site

...there is a new Profiles in Prayer article. It was submitted by a site

visitor who reminds us that, as much as we know about our lives, God knows

all that AND MORE! Kind of like our spiritual 7-ELEVEN: always open, never

far from you, and guaranteed to have what you need, when you need it.

Maybe not the best analogy, but definitely a beautiful story. Here is the

link:

...I have added a new page in the Resource Center (there is a link to the

Resource Center from the main page of the website) which includes a nice

collection of images of St. Jude.  It is always interesting to see the

different interpretations of what early Christian personalities may have

looked like.  Here is the link to the images:

==>4.) The St. Jude Gift Shop......coming soon to

       a website near you!

...one of the common questions I receive at The St. Jude Novena Site is

whether we have available for sale St. Jude devotional items for site

visitors.  Until recently, the answer was no.  Well, that will be changing

shortly since we have decided to open an online Gift Shop.  The goal is to

make available items of good taste and quality; many will be items made

EXCLUSIVELY for the St. Jude Novena Site.  These will include religious,

devotional, and gift items.  Initially the focus will be on items related

to our dear friend St. Jude. We are already in touch with respected

suppliers and craftspeople, and we should have some of the first items

available for sale on the website in the next several weeks. Without

giving away too much insider info, I can tell you that we have some

GORGEOUS items coming!  The shop is under development now, and we will

notify you by e-mail when the doors (and "windows") are open.  You will be

able to reach the Gift Shop 2 ways:

- there is a clickable link on the St. Jude Novena Site main page that is

already working

-the direct website address for the Gift Shop is

www.stjudenovena.org/GiftShop/index.html

In the meantime, if you go to the Gift Shop site, you can add your opinion

as to what items you would like to see offered. There is an online form

where you can give us your feedback. That will help us offer items that

are of interest to YOU, our site visitors. We are also planning a novel

program of contributing a portion of the sale of Gift Shop items that

anyone with a website can participate in.....STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!

Have a great month, friends and I look forward to having you visit the St.

Jude Novena Site again.  Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting.

Change often takes time -- remain open to receiving God's gifts!

With Warmest Regards,

Daniel
