HUDSON--A SPECIAL PLACE
Hudson, Quebec, Canada is a picturesque town of 6,000 people situated on the south shore of the Lake of Two Mountains, about 50 km (30 miles) west of Montreal, and 150 km (90 miles) east of Ottawa. Hudson's inhabitants are almost evenly divided into French and English speaking, but most residents are bilingual and the town maintains the look of a storybook English village.
Hudson is an excellent blend of old and new: a safe, quaint, family-oriented town where one can find a true sense of community, combined with all the services its citizens require. Visitors flock to this town to enjoy its antique shops, theatre, restaurants, gracious country homes and other amenities. The town has many public and several private sports and leisure facilities including the yacht, tennis, racquetball and golf clubs. Hudson is one of few places that can boast the world-class attractions of a city like Montreal while retaining the picture-postcard charm of a traditional small town.
