PROJECT:  Pump Up Your Canadian Sales! (marketing brochure)

DESCRIPTION:  the goal of this marketing piece which I wrote was to solicit business relationships with U.S.-based laptop computer companies. It led to the signing of significant service agreements with Hitachi and Fujitsu, two major notebook manufacturers, as well as with the Future Shop chain of superstores in Canada.

PROJECT:  The Canada Drug Company-discount Canadian pharmacy prescription medications (tri-fold marketing brochure--print)

DESCRIPTION:  the challenge was to develop a product flyer that would be attractive, inviting to read, and convenient for distribution in clinics, residences, and at trade shows. I created the flyer using concise information about our products and services and effective use of colors, images, and text. The result has been a well-received marketing piece that has resulted in a substantial inflow of requests for additional information and orders.

PROJECT:  Success Based on Service (business profile)

DESCRIPTION:  I wrote this business profile about Avanciel, a computer company which I founded and operated. It's a powerful marketing promotion tool which I can adapt to any business, and it looks impressive in print media, as well as on a company's web site.

PROJECT:  LANtastic!  (product advertising flyer)

DESCRIPTION:  this is an example of an ideal product flyer: clean and straightforward, it  neatly targets a need with a simple, effective product solution. My company became a leading Canadian dealer for this product as a result of our marketing program that included mailings, ads, and joint sales calls with the manufacturer.

PROJECT: Mobile Notes (online newsletter)

DESCRIPTION:  this newsletter, which I designed and edited, was developed as a marketing tool to provide information and advice about mobile computing.

PROJECT: The St. Jude Times (online newsletter)

DESCRIPTION:  I conceived and currently edit this popular online column which discusses the place of spirituality and prayer in everyday life. This is a perfect example of my versatility and ability to write effectively about non-business topics.

PROJECT: The St. Jude Gift Shop  (online product catalogue/e-commerce)

DESCRIPTION: I developed this online gift shopping site as an extension of the St. Jude Novena Site.   I created all content and graphics in the site, implemented the online ordering system using the 2CheckOut.com e-commerce service, and arranged drop-shipment services with suppliers. Site places first-page ranking on the Google search engine.

PROJECT:  Maximize Your Mobility! (marketing brochure--print)

DESCRIPTION:  I created this print marketing piece which was distributed at trade shows to increase market awareness of our firm's activities.  It was also included with each product order we shipped, and was used as part of a fax marketing promotion.

PROJECT:  Focal Hosting Solutions news release (press release)

DESCRIPTION:  a well-written press release is an invaluable part of a company's marketing arsenal. This a press release I wrote for a web hosting company that wanted to promote a new service.

PROJECT:  Avanciel Data Products news release (press release)

DESCRIPTION:  this is a press release which I wrote for a computer technology reseller. It is a good example of a simple, cohesive, effective style.

PROJECT:  Web Banner & Popup Ads  (online advertising - direct response)

DESCRIPTION:  effective online advertising requires the right mix of compelling words and effective images.  I have worked with many different Rich Media formats, including animated GIF banner ads, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML, transitional images, popup windows, and online forms. For each sample piece shown here, I wrote the copy, designed the graphics, and programmed the underlying special effects.

PROJECT:  E-mail Newsletter (e-mail newsletter marketing - text)

DESCRIPTION:  I implemented a bulk e-mail newsletter marketing campaign to increase site traffic and enhance site visitor contact.  In three months over 1,000 subscribed, validated e-mail addresses were collected. 

PROJECT:  Spotlight on Business (business profile service)

DESCRIPTION:  An exciting new concept launching in summer 2003, Spotlight On Business is a service offering advertorials--business profiles that combine advertising  with editorial content.  The service is targeted toward online ventures looking to increase credibility for their product or service.

PROJECT:  Notebook computer services  (HTML e-mail campaign - direct response)

DESCRIPTION:  HTML e-mails are ideal for product and service promotion, newsletter distribution, and distributing corporate communications. Their ability to use visually-appealing color, graphics, and links result in better click-through rates than text e-mails.  This example shows a successful e-mail promotion I designed to announce a new extended-warranty service for laptop computers. I designed all the graphics, content and implemented the mailing using the WorldCast bulk e-mail software solution.
